Packing for a safari in Tanzania
Making sure you pack the right clothing and equipment for a safari in Tanzania will ensure that you are comfortable and safe when on your once in a life time safari holiday. With the temperatures usually very warm in South Africa during the day, you may assume that you need to pack lots of shorts and short sleeve tops, but if you do this you may be leaving yourself exposed to the environment in terms of the sun and the insects.
You need to pack light for a safari holiday as there are often very strict rules on the weight restrictions for luggage especially when travelling on smaller flights between locations within Africa. Unless you have a formal do to go to, formal clothing will not be required, in fact you should only take clothing that you don’t mind if it gets soiled. Ideally you want to take thin clothing that can be layered on top of each other.
You will want to try and take khaki coloured clothing rather than bright colours and most resorts have a laundry service meaning that you can get your clothes washed and returned to you quickly. This will allow you to limit the number of items you need to take.
