Why not visit Tarangire National Park in South Africa

If you are planning a trip to South Afrcia then you must visit Tarangire National Park. It is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania. The diverse vegetation is not found anywhere else in the northern safari areas and the hilly landscape is covered with a large numbers of Baobab trees, dense bush and high grasses.

The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses through the park and this is often the only source of water for many of the animals during the dry season. This is one of the main reasons as to why literally thousands of animals make the long trek across the land to come and drink from the Tarangire lake. Without this, a lot of animals would struggle to find water during the dry seasons.

Birds are also attracted to this area in South Africa, there is often over 500 different species of bird that flock here year upon year.  With all these different mammals and birds it is easy to see why lots of tourists visit Tarangire every year. If you are looking for a structured safari, this is the place to go.
