Planning a school safari trips
With schools pushing the boat out year upon year with the trips they can offer to their students, it should come as no surprise that some are now offering safari trips to South Africa. A safari is often a once in a life time opportunity and with schools being able to get a discount on group bookings, it may be the cheapest way for a student to experience all this unique trip has to offer.
As a school, booking a safari trip can be exciting but requires a lot of preparation and planning. Most schools will send either a member of staff on the trip first to plan it all out and to carry out a risk assessment. If booking through a third party, then they will very often be able to do this for you and will be responsible for activities when you are out there.
Risk assessments are vital on a safari trip as you not only have to be concerned with the wildlife but also the risk of sun exposure and insect bites along with safety within the local communities. These trips are usually organised for older students or college / university students who have an interest in this area.
