Uganda Gorilla Trekking holiday

If you are looking for a holiday with a difference and have already done the normal safari type holiday then why not try a Gorilla trek? Gorilla trekking can be fun for the whole family but you may have to walk quite some distance over uneven terrain so it is important to bear this in mind

Uganda is a very popular location that many people choose when looking to book a gorilla trekking holiday. It offers something a little different from the standard Safari and often allows you to get a lot closer to the animals.

Bwindi has at least 90 mammal species, 324 species of trees, 350 bird species and it is also home to approximately half the world’s population of mountain gorillas!

It is important that you book your trek with a reputable company and that you find out all the information regarding what clothing / footwear you need to wear before your trip. When tracking gorillas, you will need to be prepared to get up and leave early. Mountain gorilla groups move about daily and can be often be seen only within a 10 min walk from the park entrance. Saying this though, you should also realise that it may take a trek of several hours to find the group.
