Going on a safari holiday? Here’s what to expect
With safari holidays now becoming more common, many people are
ditching their usual sun, sea and sand getaways for one packed with wildlife
and adventure. There are a huge number of different types of safaris you can go
on all over the world, although the most popular destination is South Africa.
It may be that you want to have a bit of freedom to explore as you wish, in
which case a self-drive safari may be the perfect option for you. If you would
rather have the knowledge and security of a tour guide then an organised guided
safari trip would be what you need where you will be taken by a guide to areas
that are popular with the wildlife to watch them in their own environment.
Safari holidays can be suitable for the whole family, but if you are taking children
then you will need to find a resort and area that is suitable in a malaria free
zone. If your children are very young then you will have to consider carefully
as to if they will enjoy the trip as often on a safari you need to be quite and
patient to see the best sights.
